How long does it take to complete a background check?
Typically background check results can take between 5-10 days to complete. If the background check vendor has contacted you to complete the SSA-89 form please complete and return it to the vendor immediately.
There are scheduled outages with the Social Security Administration (SSA) which will impact the processing time for the SSA-89 form. If the submission of the SSA-89 to the SSA is impacted by the scheduled outage, the vendor will complete the background check order when the SSA is back online.
Once a passing result is received, you will be able to move forward with your enrollment.
